Who Is I-CAR?
The 1970s saw a period of rapid changes in automotive technology and vehicle structures. The Inter-Industry recognized that to protect consumer safety, collision repair training also needed to evolve. So the Inter-Industry founded I-CAR® (the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) in 1979, a not-for-profit training organization dedicated to providing the knowledge for complete, safe and quality auto repairs.
For more than 30 years, I-CAR has proudly developed and delivered the highest-quality technical training to collision repair professionals – from students preparing to enter the industry to technicians with years of experience. I-CAR provides this training through a variety of programs, including the I-CAR Professional Development Program™, the Inter-Industry’s standard for training.

This brings several key benefits:
As training increases, technician performance improves.
Being able to stay on top of the latest technology helps technicians perform better, including improvements to cycle time and touch time.
As technician performance improves, business performance improves.
Knowledgeable, well-trained technicians give businesses a competitive advantage.
